All Things New
A lot has changed here at the Lovett house. It has been such a whirlwind, but I am loving every minute of it. Jeff and I were blessed with a special bundle on July 26th and he could not be more perfect. I am amazed at what an incredible experience child birth and the bond that you form immediately after having your child. I am also amazed at how fast the time goes now. it seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital and now he is a month old:( I AM looking forward to watching Cale grow and develop and reach all the fun milestones, I just wish he would slow down a little.
Another thing I am amazed at is how loud a new born cries in the middle of the night. Now I consider myself a hard sleeper, but there is no sleeping through a feeding:)
How about getting ready to leave the house...OH MY WORD! I never knew it would take so much planning to get the two of us out of the house even to run errands! Cale is def. a trooper. He has a mom who finds it hard to sit around and likes to go go go! This being said, Cale's outings include: wedding rehearsal at 4 days old, wedding and reception at 5 days old, first time to church at 6 days old, first airplane ride to San Antonio at 9 days old, daily outings running around town, Quail Springs Mall for 5 hours at 3 weeks old and his first trip to Tahlequah to see Gran and Poppy at almost 5 weeks old:) Let's just say we sleep well at night!

Mystery Itch...
So Thursday night, Jeff and I are laying in bed watching Seinfeld, our normal routine. All of the sudden, I started itching ALL OVER. At first I thought well maybe my skin is stretching from pregnancy or MAYBE I HAVE FLEAS!!!! I freaked out and hopped in the shower. All I could think about was when one of my students gave me head lice last year, SICK! After the shower, I put lotion all over and laid back down. The itching didnt stop. (Just so you know, I wash our bed sheets twice a week because I am a little anal about clean sheets) What could it be!? I literally felt like I had bugs crawling all over my body. Needless to say, it was a miserable nights sleep. Not only was I itchy but 37 weeks pregnant...BLAH!
I woke up the next morning and basically just dealt with it all day. Friday night I went to dinner and to see eclipse with my dear friend Jennifer and it's all I could do through the whole movie!
When I got home, I immediately got online and started researching what it could be. I knew it wasn't anything I ate because I hadn't eaten anything out of the norm. I then started reading about this condition called "cholestasis". Basically it only happens to women late in pregnancy and has something to do with the liver and bile production and is very harmful for baby. Anyway, the symptom: extreme itching all over...!! Keep in mind that Jeff is out of town for the weekend. I FREAK OUT! I called my mom and her friend Sonya who is an R.N. and ask them what I should do. They recommend that I call the 24 hr line for my doctor. I do so and the doctor on call was SO RUDE to me! AHH. She told me to take benadryl, end of story. I don't know if it's the hormones in me right now but all of the sudden I am a complete BASKET CASE!! I called my mom back crying hysterically and bless her heart, I know she was thinking "just take the benadryl!" I don't know why but I was so scared too. I have heard of mother's milk supply drying up and not being able to breastfeed and I couldn't think about anything else. Eventually, I calm myself down, take the benadryl and take a warm bath. After about 40 minutes, the itching started to ease up and I was able to fall asleep. I of course then woke up itching at 6 am when the medicine wore off. So I took another dose and kept up all day long. Needless to say, I was a walking ZOMBIE. I have a doctor appt Monday for my weekly checkup and I am going to take the benadryl until then and ask her what it could possibly be. Anyone ever heard of this or experienced it!? I feel like I have leprosy!

36.5 weeks...
Wow....could these last few weeks go any slower?! The answer is "no". I really have been trying to stay busy a.) to pass the time b.) to get this little guy movin'!
I suddenly HAVE to mow and Jeff HAS to trim the bushes. All the sudden the flowers that died in the pot on the porch need replaced!
A little side note: you may recall a few weeks ago on a Monday when it rained and rained...and rained. Well that day we realized that our roof was totaled and our chimney was leaking...no big deal. Also, the chimney was leaking into the guest bedroom closet, soaking the ceiling, walls and carpet. Still, it's fixable, right!? I called our insurance that day and the lady told me she would have someone call me and come look at the damage. About a week goes by and I don't hear from anyone, so I call back. The lady reassures me that the adjuster had contacted me and we had worked it out. Come to find out, the guy had called my mother in law, thinking it was me...WHAT!? Ok so long story short- here we are over 3 weeks later and NOTHING has been done. We now have mold growing in our guest closet, sheet rock needs torn out, along with carpet pad and carpet, our roof and chimney and tons of repairs to be made. This all needs to be taken care of before Mr. Cale decides to enter this world!!! I am having a hard time having patience with this ordeal!

Update on this pregnancy
I can not believe that I am already 34.5 weeks pregnant! Man has it flown by. It kind of makes me sad because I know that once my little man is here, it will go by even faster:( Why can't they be babies forever!?
The nursery is officially done and ready for Cale. He has diapers, wipes, clean clothes and towels.I even went and had the fire dept. install our carseat:) We were so blessed to have such a nice shower thrown by such wonderful people.
Now I need some advice. Here are some things I still have left to do before her comes:
1. pack the hospital bag. What do I even pack? I don't want to pack too much, just the essentials.
2. prepare for birthing this baby. Can you do that?
3. Buy the last few thinds on my registry. Would you recommend one of those excersaucers? I dont even know if that is what its called. The round thing you put them in and there are alot of probably over-stimulating objects to play with? What about a swing? We already have an infant seat.
